Estée Lauder: Chinese New Year Film

Estée Lauder commissioned this creative inspirational film to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Chris and his team worked closely with directors Andreas Berner and Oliver Davies of The Mill to capture rich macro images, precision camera motion, and super slow motion elements.

Powder explosions were executed by practical effects artist Makoto Aoki of Swell, while makeup artist Ariana Salvato crafted artful gestures using cosmetics and metallic compounds. Chris’s studio employed specialty lighting and macro cinematography techniques to capture real textures and light play in these hand-made elements, which were brought together and further animated in post.
